Daily Roundup for Wednesday, October 8th

Although getting through the team previews is a killer (I regret starting them, frankly), I’m going to try and post some relevant news as the days go by. I should have all the team previews up by next week and the final draft rankings will be posted next Friday since that gives a good two weeks to the start of the season and everyone’s drafts should fall in that range.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Derrick Rose is a “lock” to be the Bulls starting point guard. Not sure what to make of this because plenty of rookies receive preseason hype that doesn’t translate to the season. Hinrich is still the overall safer pick but that could change….soon.

The Wizards dodged a bullet because Antawn Jamison’s knee injury isn’t serious, but Brendan Haywood will miss at least four months because of a torn tendon in his right wrist. Start salivating over Andray Blatche, who is a much better choice to fill in than Etan Thomas.

The horrifying news from the New Jersey Nets is that should-have-been-fired-last-season coach Lawrence Frank is considering a bloated 10-man rotation, which could be devastating to the fantasy prospects of every Nets player except Vince Carter and Devin Harris.

Not a huge fantasy prospect, Martell Webster will miss at least two months with a stress fracture in his left foot. Drop him off the board, for now.

Anthony Parker, a pleasent surprise last season, will keep his starting job this season. Playing with Calderon and Bosh, Parker thrives as a spot shooter and should be a fine late-draft option.
